Jamie and Heather talk about the good, bad, and ugly of making money in the wedding industry outside of wedding coordination - think side hustle. Hear about one floral side gig that went horribly wrong and several ideas you can run with. In this episode, Jamie and Heather discuss: What not to do when trying to earn more cash Starting a consistent networking event Bringing in experts and speakers Selling useful digital products Key Takeaways: The common approach early on is to have rentals, do florals and add on a few extra dollars for an event - but this will not work. You’ll be spreading yourself too thin. Networking is very handy for the community, it adds a lot of value to the business. Host a networking event and charge for it to earn money while building connections, you can do this multiple times each month. You don’t have to be an expert in weddings or management to be able to hold a networking event for wedding planners. You only need to put the effort into getting invites, inviting speakers, and making the event a good experience. Sell some useful digital products. Time blocking formats, scheduling spreadsheets, wedding planning courses, or other little neat materials that could make a wedding planner’s life easier. If you have a system that works for you, sell it online! "There’s so many opportunities to continue to grow this business and to make sure you’re being fulfilled… give it a try" — Jamie Wolfer
